Our fees vary depending on the type of therapy being provided and the duration of the appointments involved. Our fees also vary depending on whether you are accessing a Medicare rebate, which is available through obtaining a Mental Health Treatment Plan (see below section about rebates). Medicare offer a number of rebates for psychological services, most commonly $96.65 for appointments of 50 minutes or more. This rebate is accessible for a total of 10 appointments per calendar year, per individual. Please contact us for more information about our fees and payment options if you cannot answer your questions with the information below.
At AIm Up Psychology, we aim to make psychological assessment and treatment services as affordable as possible. As such, Aim Up Psychology offers fees significantly lower than those recommended by both the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi), whose recommended rates can be viewed via the links below.

The cost of all general psychological testing (e.g. mood questionnaires) and any associated reporting is included in the cost of an initial consultation.
Further psychological testing and reporting (e.g. intelligence testing or personality testing) is subject to further fees, as relevant to the testing and reporting required. All rates for further psychometric testing and reporting will be discussed and agreed to prior to undergoing testing.
If you have private health insurance, your insurer may be able to cover some of the costs of your appointments. Check with your policy and with your insurer to see if this is available, and if so a receipt for every appointment will be provided to you following payment in order for you to organise your rebate with your insurer. Rebates via private health insurance are not available if you are accessing a relevant Medicare rebate and vice versa.
A late cancellation fee of 100% of the relevant consultation fee will be processed in the event of cancellation occurring within 24 hours of the appointment time, or non-attendance of the scheduled appointment. A 50% late cancellation will also be processed if the appointment is cancelled less than 48 hours from the start time of the appointment.
These cancellation fees are processed as it is often not possible to fill the time slot vacated within these time frames and there are often others waiting for an appointment time who may not be able to attend at such short notice. If regular cancellations occur, your psychologist will discuss this with you to explore any potential barriers to attending appointments, or if it is still a suitable time to be attending therapy.
